(1) as引导方式（或比较）状语从句句型：“按照……;正如……”


例：As(it is)in your country, we grow wheat in the north and rice in the south.


正如(像) 你们国家一样，我们北方种植小麦，南方种植水稻。

She enjoys all kinds of music, as I do.

她和我一样什么音乐都喜欢。

Repeat these five steps, as in the last exercise.

照前面的练习一样，重复这五个步骤。

They did as I had asked.

他们是按照我的要求做的。

Leave the papers as they are.

别去动那些文件。

She lost it, just as I said she would.

(2) as+形容词/副词原级+(a /an)+名词+as ;


否定式：not as/so --- as


例：

He was as white as a sheet.

他面无血色。

She doesn't play as well as her sister.

她演奏得不如她姐姐。

I haven't known him as long as you (= as you have known him) .

我认识他的时间没有你长。

He doesn't earn as much as me.

他挣的钱比我少。

He doesn't earn as much as I do.

他挣的钱不如我多。

It's not as hard as I thought.

这没有我想象的那么困难。

Run as fast as you can.

你尽量快跑。

We'd like it as soon as possible.

我们希望越快越好。


He is as good a player as his sister.


他和他姐姐一样是位优秀的运动员。

I never went through a final exam that was as difficult as that one.

我从来没有碰到过像那次那么难的期末考试。

  • Being a mother isn't as bad as I thought at first!...

做母亲并不像我一开始想的那样糟！

  • I don't think he was ever as fit as he should have been.

(3) such + n. + as to do 如此……以致于……


例：She is such a fool as to believe what he said.


她是一个如此的一个笨蛋以致相信了他所说的话。


(4) so + adj./adv. + as to do sth 如此……以致于……


例：He was so strong as to carry the heavy box.


他是如此的强壮以致于能提起那重箱子。


(5) such...as... 象……之类的…… (接名词或定语从句)


例：He wished to be such a man as Lei Feng was.


他希望成为一个像雷锋这样的人。


(6) the same +名词+as 和……一样的…… (接名词或定语从句)


例：He is not the same man as he used to be.


他不是从前的那样子了。

My hometown is no longer the same as it was．我的家乡再也不像过去一样了。


(7) as 引导非限制性定语从句

用来指代它前面的整个句子(即先行句)，意思是“这一点”。这个分句可以位于句首、句中或句末。eg：

As is well known，oceans cover more than 70％ of the earth．我们知道，海洋占地球面积的百分之七十以上。

As is known to us, knowledge is power.


众所周知，知识就是力量。

As you can see, we're still working...

如你所见，我们仍在工作。


(8)引导时间状语从句，与while意义相近

，侧重指从句中的动作与主句中的动作同时发生或同时进行，一般持续时间不长，其谓语可以是延续性动词，也可以是瞬时动词。

She was coming in as he was going out.


她进来的时候，他正要出去。


I caught a whiff of perfume as she swept past me.


她从我身边走过时，我闻到一股香水味。

Joe jumped onto the bus just as it was pulling away.


正当公共汽车开动时，乔跳上了车。

We get wiser as we get older.


随着我们长大，我们也变得越来越聪明。

He shouted aloud as her ran along．他一边往前跑，一边高声地呼喊。

I was startled as he opened the door．他一开门，我吓了一跳。

另外，as作连词，相当于when。eg；

As a little boy (When he was a little boy)he began to learn to play piano．他小时候就开始学弹钢琴。

He sat watching her as she got ready.

他一直坐着看她准备停当。

As she grew older she gained in confidence.

随着年龄的增长她的信心增强了。


(9) 引导原因状语从句，与 because的用法相近


例：As it was getting very late, we soon turned back.


因为越来越迟了，所以我们不久就回来了。

As you were out, I left a message.

你不在，所以我留了一张字条儿。

She may need some help as she's new.

她是新来的，可能需要一些帮助。

As a result of the growing fears about home security, more people are arranging for someone to stay in their home when they're away.

因为越来越担心住宅安全，更多的人在出门的时候会在家中留人。

You must hurry up as there is little time left.你必须赶快一点因为时间不多了。

I must stop writing now，as I have rather a lot of work to do．我必须停笔了，因为我还有许多工作要做。

(10) 引导让步状语从句；这时从句常用倒装语序，即把从句中6的表语、状语或动词原形放在as之前。


例：

Happy as they were, there was something missing.

尽管他们很快乐，但总缺少点什么。

Try as he might (= however hard he tried) , he couldn't open the door.

他想尽了办法也没能打开门。


Child as he is, he knows much about science.


尽管他是一个小孩，但他对科学了解得很多。

Hard as he works, he can't support his family.


他工作努力，可还是无法养活一家人。


Pretty as she is, no one likes her.


她很美丽，但没人喜欢她。

Strange as it may seem，it is true．尽管这事看上去很奇怪，但却是真的。

Try as he might，Tom could not get out of the difficulties．不管怎样努力，汤姆还是摆脱不了困境。

（11）、as if／though常用来引导方式状语从句，作“好像，仿佛”解。如果从句中讲的是非真实情况，则用虚拟语气。eg：



She loves the child as if／though he were her own．她爱这个孩子如同爱自己的孩子。



As if／though也可用来引导表语从句，常用在“It appears／looks／seems．．．+as if／though”句型结构中。eg；



It appears as if／though it is going to clear up．看起来天要晴了。



It seems as if／though he knew nothing about it.他好像对此事一无所知。


（12）．as to作“关于，至于”解。eg；



There is no doubt as to his honesty．他的诚实是无可置疑的。



（13）．as much／many as作“多达．．．”，“达到．．．之多”解。eg：



He can earn as much as 5000 dollars a month．他每月能挣5000美元。



（14）．so／as far as I know作“就我所知”解，在句中作插入语。eg：



As／So far as I know，he will come here next Monday．据我所知，他将于下星期一到这里来。



（15）．as a result，as a result of表示“由于．．．的结果”。eg：



She died as a direct result of the accident．她的死是那次事故的直接结果。



（16），as well为“也，还”之意。eg：



Come early，and bring your brother as well．早点来，把你的弟弟也带来。



（17）．so as to，so．．．as to若跟动词原形，表示目的或结果。eg：



He studied hard so as to pass the exam．他努力学习以便通过考试。(表示目的)

as soon as possible 尽可能快地


as early as possible 尽可能早的


as carefully as you can 尽可能认真地


as careful as you can 尽可能认真的


so...as 一般用于否定句,as...as 一般用于肯定句,(肯定否定都能用)



so...as不可用于肯定句.as...as与so...as均可表示"与……一样",as...as...的用法:两个as中间可以加形容词或者副词,由它要修饰的内容决定.



它们的用法有异同之处:


肯定句用as...as,不用so...as;否定句两者均可使用.例如:


I didn't go as /so far as you.我走得不像你那么远.


They walked as far as the station.他们步行到了车站.


误:They walked so far as the station.
