中考英语之other, others, the other, the others, another

英语中有一组词，对于同学们来说极难区分，它们就是 other, others, the other, the others, another. 今天用我的角度讲一下，期望同学们能理解性的掌握。下面按照由易到难的顺序依次讲解。

第一组 other和others

这两个词是一组，意思相同，都是剩余中的一部分，唯一不同的是他们的词性。other是形容词（adj），它的后面可以加名词的复数。而others既然已经加了“s”,那它一定是一个名词，而且是复数。一句话others = other + 名词复数。这一组词常用于some ....... other + 名词复数 / others ...... 句型之中。请看下图咱们举个例子.

other, others

我有6个球，两个是红色的，其余的两个是黄色的。（还有两个蓝色的，所以2个黄色的是除去红色的之外，剩余的一部分，但不是全部。）

I have 6 balls. Two of them are red, and other balls / others are yellow.

第二组 another

another的意思与 other和others很不同，它的意思是剩余部分中的一个，所以它本质上是单数。但是它的词性有两个：既是形容词也是名词。

another

我有7个球。有两个是红色的，还有一个是蓝色的。(除去2个红色的，剩余5个球中的一个。）

I have 7 balls. two of them are red, and another / another one is blue.

第三组 the other 和 the others

先看 the others . 与others一样，它也是“s”结尾，所以它也是一个复数名词，它的意思是剩余的全部。

the other 最复杂。首先它有两个词意：1. 其余的全部，与 the others 呼应，后面加名词的复数，在这个词意下，它是一个形容词。 2. 两个中的另一个。在这个词意下，它有两个词性，名词以及形容词，名词后不加东西，形容词后加名词的单数。一般如果要考察这个用法，在题的前半部分一定会出现“two”.

我有两个球，一个是红色的，另一个是黄色的。

I have 2 balls. one is red, and the other / the other one is yellow.

剩余的全部

我有6个球、有两个是红色的，其余的全部都是黄色的。

I have 6 balls. Two are red and the other balls / the others are yellow.

分析：1. 词性。 空白处所缺词为主语，必须是名词，D不选。2. 单复数。 空白处后面是复数谓语“are”, A不选。3. the other 只有在意思为两个中的另一个时，有名词的词性，但是又和“are”冲突，所以B不选。4. 只剩下C 选项了，用了some ....... other + 名词复数 / others ...... 句型。

2. I have two uncles，one is a doctor and _____ is a teacher.

分析：1. 词性。空白处所缺词为主语，必须是名词，C不选。2. 题的前半部分有“two”,所以我们就可以选择A the other.

3. I have three pens.One is red,____two are black.

分析：1. 词性。 空白处所缺词修饰“two”，必须是形容词，D不选。2. 单复数。 空白处后面是复数“two”以及复数谓语“are”, A不选。3.意思。根据题意，剩余的全部两只钢笔是黑色的，所以B不选，因为other的意思是剩余的一部分，而不是全部。4. 只剩下C 选项了，剩余的全部，形容词的词性，复数。
